ANSI B16.11 Fittings
ASME B16.11 Standard Scope
This standard contains pressure-temperature ratings, dimensions, tolerances, markings and material requirements for forged and threaded forged fittings. The relevant contents will be shown in below tables in this article.
Although the use of the material is based on the application it is to cater to. For instance, if an application requires good tensile strength in addition to hardness and toughness, while corrosion resistance is not considered to be an important property, Carbon Steel Socket Weld Fitting are preferred. This is because these fitting are inexpensive and are easily available. Industries that make use of the Socket Weld Pipe Fitting include Chemical Industries, Machines and equipment, Power stations, Water treatment systems, Sanitary tubing, Heat Exchangers, Oil and gas transmissions as well as petroleum and Oil refining.

Socket weld fittings and Threaded fittings size in NPS inch. For example the 45 and 90 degree elbow, its size range is 1/2” to 4”, and the classes of the product are ranging in 3000, 6000 and 9000 lbs.
Notes: Plug and bushings are not identified by class designation. They may be used for ratings up to Class 600 designation.
